FAQ
Q: I'd like to volunteer!
A: That is fantastic. All volunteers receive a free entry to any BTO Multisports race (excludes 5 Mile Lake Women's Triathlon). Please contact us and let us know. And thank you!
Q: How do I qualify for the world championships?
A: Read all about that here.
Q: Restrooms?
A: All locations for the Pacific Aquathon series either have public restrooms or portable restrooms for your convenience. Lines do tend to form, so be sure to plan ahead/arrive early to take care of any, ahem, business.
Q: How do relays work for the aquathon?
A: With your powers combined, you become...a relay! A relay is a two-person team with one relay member doing the swim and the other, the run. They are given one timing chip at registration and must transfer the chip from the swimmer to the runner inside the transition area. Due to all the possible permutations, (female relays, male relays, youth relays, coed relays, etc.) there is just one category for relays for scoring purposes. So all relays, regardless of the composition of the relay members, are in one category for scoring. Doing a relay is a great way for friends, husband/wife, parent/child, etc to try out a multisport race. To sign up as a relay, just go to the registration link for the race you'd like to do, and select the relay option. You will be asked to enter information for both relay members.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Please see here.
Q: What's with the one day fee for USA Triathlon?
A: USA Triathlon provides a good service by insuring all of our multisport races. This helps to protect the participants, volunteers, venues, government entities, and race directors from issues of liability and provides coverage in the event of injury. In order to provide this coverage, everyone must be a part of USA Triathlon during the event. Hence, if you are not already an annual member, a one-day fee of $12.00 for adults and $15.00 for youth is necessary.
Q: What do I need for registration/packet pick up?
A: If you have signed up online: A picture ID, your USAT ID (if you have one)
A: If you are signing up on day of race: A picture ID, your USAT ID (if you have one) and cash or check (NO CREDIT CARDS) for the one day fee (if not a USAT member).
Q: Help, I left something behind!
A: If we find something important-looking, email us and you can either come pick it up or we can mail it to you for a $10 service charge.
